Copyright vs Cultural Appropriation

No, I do not think that the tattoo artist should be paid. The tattoo artist-based Mike Tyson’s tattoo of tattoos that are connected to Maori culture.Due to the simple fact that the tattoo is not an original creation. Therefore, the tattoo artist’s argument that the tattoo is his and he should be compensated is null and void. I think that Whitmill is wrong to believe that he is entitled to cultural appropriation.

There are two reasons why I think this is unacceptable

First is the fact that the tattoo artists claim that the tattoo which he based on an indigenous New Zealand (Maori) tattoos as his property. Second is that it is always wrong to isolate any part of any marginalized group and take credit for it.

In closing, paying the tattoo artist would be rewarding unacceptable behavior. It would give positive reinforcement for using intellectual property of Maori and demanding financial reimbursement for it.
